GUITAR LESSONS now online - first post!
Posted by admin on January 25, 2008I’ve been working on several ideas for SEO rockstar guitar lessons pages and I’ve decided to put everything guitar related on my new site which is launching soon - GuitarTechnician.com
What we will be doing here is posting lessons, each page will be hosted on a different site to cross-link as an SEO experiment - the navigation will be seamless to the user, but wonderful for SEO, again this is an experiment.
So as part of the experiment this is a test post.
GUITAR LESSON 1>
Okay let’s start with something very simple. TUNING
If you want to tune to standard tuning, that is simply accomplished by BUYING A TUNER and tuning your string from low to high - also described as from the fattest string to the thinnest and highest sounding string: E - A - D - G - B - E.
Now, there are many bands who tune differently for various reasons, the main one being the pitch of the singer’s voice. For my project KRONiS, I simply dropped every step down 1/2 a step (Guns and Roses, Allice in Chains, many of the 1990s alternative rock bands use this tuning. It makes it possible for singers to sing 1/2 step higher when the song is based in E, which many many songs are due to that being the open string that is the lowest on the guitar and rings much clearer that a fretted note.
When I play live, lately I’ve been tuning my guitars down one full step to D.
From low to high: D, G, C, F, A, D - there are many acronyms you can use to remember this as well, (DGCFAD= Dirty Girls Can, Fornicate All Day for example)
Okay enough for page one… .Page Two of the TUNING Lesson. (note linked to digitalvegetarian.com’s lessons pages…. then page three will be on kronis.us in the lesson pages and the last page will be on aaronkronis.com again.)
