So I’m watching the Toronto Maple Leafs kick the shit out of the Montreal Canadiens 5-3 on some expensive NHL TV package that allows me to watch Don Cherry’s Grapevine in Los Angeles.
The other day while doing some blog research I ran into iJustine’s latest project – not sure who created it, but it is like Twitter for video. you can make 12 second videos, but that’s the max length. This is great for tons of user generated content, let limiting you to 12 seconds makes it hard to make more than one point. interesting idea…users will make TONS of videos as they are so short.
Here’s what i came up with so far. check it out, follow me if you like and I’ll follow you back – like twitter – my twitter is @kronis if you wanna follow me there I will follow you back too (www.twitter.com)
Tons going on right now. I’ve relocated to downtown Los Angeles from the South Bay and now am finally meeting tons of industry people and getting lots of things happening for my professional career.
My band KRONiS is coming along strong, new album on the way, working with some cool people at Wpromote and also working with some killer players at en2go.net.
Off to SMX Advanced this week in Seattle, Washington. Should be interesting.
I’ve been working on several ideas for SEO rockstar guitar lessons pages and I’ve decided to put everything guitar related on my new site – GuitarTechnician.com
GUITAR LESSON – TUNING
Okay let’s start with something very simple. TUNING
If you want to tune to standard tuning, that is simply accomplished by BUYING A TUNER and tuning your string from low to high – also described as from the fattest string to the thinnest and highest sounding string: E – A – D – G – B – E.
Now, there are many bands who tune differently for various reasons, the main one being the pitch of the singer’s voice. For my project KRONiS, I simply dropped every step down 1/2 a step (Guns and Roses, Allice in Chains, many of the 1990s alternative rock bands use this tuning. It makes it possible for singers to sing 1/2 step higher when the song is based in E, which many many songs are due to that being the open string that is the lowest on the guitar and rings much clearer that a fretted note.
When I play live, lately I’ve been tuning my guitars down one full step to D.
From low to high: D, G, C, F, A, D – there are many acronyms you can use to remember this as well, (DGCFAD= Dirty Girls Can, Fornicate All Day for example, something easy to remember)
